Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Deanna, a licensed professional counselor in Michigan. I believe real progress starts with actually knowing the person in front of me, not a checklist, so I take time to understand your story before we talk about a plan. If you're carrying anxiety, grief, trauma, or just need space to be heard, I'd love to work with you.

My approach to therapy

In our sessions we work from where you are, not where a textbook says you should be. I draw on cognitive behavioral therapy to help untangle thoughts that have started running the show, and strength based, solution focused techniques to find practical next steps instead of staying stuck. For couples and families, I bring in attachment focused and Gottman informed tools to help you understand old patterns and build better ones. Throughout, I use motivational interviewing to meet you exactly where you are, never pushing faster than feels right. My goal is steady, grounded progress you can actually feel between sessions, not just in the room.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is just a conversation, no clipboard between us. I want to understand what is really going on in your life right now and what brought you here, at your pace. From there we build a plan together, one that fits your actual life, not a generic template. Many clients tell me they feel truly heard, often for the first time. Telehealth sessions are available across Michigan, so you can meet with me from wherever feels safest and most comfortable for you.
