Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, and mental health care across community programs, court-involved systems, and healthcare settings. My career has included work in public health, Veterans Affairs, correctional rehabilitation programs, and community mental health services. I currently serve as a Senior Clinical Services Case Worker with Prince William County Community Services, where I provide treatment for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use disorders, as well as supervise clinical staff.

My approach to therapy

I hold a two graduate degrees from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration. I am also currently completing my Doctor of Health Administration at the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Throughout my career I have worked with diverse populations including individuals experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. I have also worked extensively with people involved in the court system, veterans, and individuals navigating significant life transitions or personal challenges.

My goal as a therapist is to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change in their lives.

What you can expect from me

My approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and practical. I believe that each person already has many of the tools they need to grow and heal, and part of our work together is identifying and building upon those strengths.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care. I also take a solution-focused approach that helps clients move from simply understanding their problems to actively developing strategies for change.

At the same time, I believe therapy should be honest and engaging. I challenge my clients when appropriate because growth often happens when we examine patterns that may be holding us back. My style can be direct but supportive, and I often use thoughtful questions in a Socratic way to help clients explore their beliefs, behaviors, and goals more deeply.

I also believe therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy. When appropriate, I bring humor into the process because laughter and perspective can be powerful tools for connection and change.
