Great to meet you!

I am an experienced licensed professional counselor providing therapy via telehealth for adults ages 24-65 who live in Washington state or Oregon. In addition, I am a National Certified Counselor, Board Certified Telemental Health provider (BC-TMH) and a GMHS (WA). I have a foundation of experience providing therapy for clients with a wide variety of mental health needs, and I specialize in anxiety, trauma and supporting survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence in their recovery. Currently, I am working toward the international Registered Expressive Arts Therapist credential.

My approach to therapy

I support hope and self-determination as my clients pursue their therapeutic goals and well being. Therapy is a collaborative process in which I use a compassionate person-centered approach and evidence-based methods to address individual needs. These include Motivational Interviewing, CBT/Trauma-Focused CBT, ACT, Exposure and Response Prevention, Mindfulness, Gestalt Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Where applicable, I interweave psychotherapy with Expressive Arts Therapy.

What you can expect from me

My practice’s name, The Spotted Hawk Counseling, PLLC, refers to Walt Whitman’s poem, “Song of Myself” in which he related to the “untranslatable” in a hawk’s cry. Creative self-expression can give rise to insight and provide a path to healing and greater self-acceptance. Whether you are here for talk therapy or experiential creative work, I provide a safe space for you to confront life’s challenges and receive therapeutic support.
