Great to meet you!

I'm Dennis Coates, a Licensed Professional Counselor who spent over 15 years at the VA as a Readjustment Counseling Therapist, helping combat veterans work through PTSD, trauma, substance use, and gambling disorders. I also support adults facing anxiety, stress, and anger that has built up over time. My hope is to offer a steady, respectful space where your story, not just a diagnosis, leads the way.

My approach to therapy

I believe that my clients are the experts on their own life and story and my goal is to help them discover what works best for them. My approach to therapy is a collaborative approach and is profoundly person centered.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I listen first: what brought you here, what you're carrying, and what you hope changes. Whether that's combat-related PTSD, trauma, substance use, or gambling struggles, or the everyday weight of anxiety and stress, you'll leave feeling heard, respected, and less alone.
