Great to meet you!

My journey to psychiatric mental health nursing began initially in the ICU, where I spent over 20 years at teaching hospitals including Cedars Sinai, UCLA, and Yale. Working in critical care taught me invaluable skills that now enhance my psychiatric practice: assessing patients holistically, managing complex medication regimens, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patients through their darkest moments. I learned firsthand how trauma, fear, depression, anxiety and medical crises profoundly impact mental well-being.

As a May 2025 graduate of Hawaii Pacific University with an MSN degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I now specialize in treating adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health challenges. My approach integrates medication management with supportive therapy as well as CBT, and motivational therapy while considering the interconnected nature of mind, body, and spirit. Drawing on my extensive medical background, I help patients understand how their physical health, life experiences, relationships, and mental wellness influence one another, creating individualized treatment plans that honor each person's unique path to healing.

My approach to therapy

My approach combines clinical expertise from decades in critical care with compassionate, patient-centered mental health treatment where we work as a team toward your goals. Through convenient telehealth appointments, I provide comprehensive care including thoughtful medication management (when appropriate) and supportive therapy, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing, focusing on mood balance, improving focus, managing anxiety, and building practical skills for lasting change. I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, taking time to explain options clearly and ensuring you feel understood, knowledgeable, and confident in making decisions about your care

What you can expect from me

During our first telehealth session, we'll review your history and symptoms, discuss your specific goals, and create a personalized treatment plan designed for your unique needs. This is a conversation, not a medical interview – I'll explain all recommendations clearly, including potential benefits and considerations, ensuring you feel comfortable with our plan. Taking the first step toward mental health care takes courage, and I'm here to make that step as comfortable as possible, helping you move from just getting through each day to feeling grounded, confident, and genuinely well again.
