I have worked with all ages in helping them identify and process challenges from childhood where they'd like to experience healing. Childhood proves to be such a foundational time in life and trauma we experience in childhood and growing up impacts us in many ways. Some common phrases you might say to yourself are "I'm too young to feel this old", "I don't really feel like an adult", or "I never really had a childhood".
All of these phrases point back to childhood trauma. My practice offers a space to reprocess these experiences and develop resources to help you feel more like YOU. To help my clients process childhood trauma, I work from a theoretical framework of attachment theory, which emphasizes how past relationships impact current relationships. Focusing on my client's strengths and creating an open environment in therapy are also important principles I utilize in my practice.
Specific modalities of therapy I've been trained in include EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. EMDR helps to process specific trauma, while my training in couples therapy provides relational tools to improve relationships impacted by trauma.
