Great to meet you!

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating change, or struggling in your relationships, I offer space for you to feel heard and understood. I’m D’Erica Blackmon, and I help adolescents and adults work through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. As a Black and Native American woman, I value how culture, identity, and lived experiences shape our lives. My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. Together, we’ll explore what matters to you, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, and life transitions. I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns and practice more balanced responses. I incorporate dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication. I also use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to help you clarify your values and take meaningful steps toward what matters to you. In sessions, we may practice grounding, examine a recent challenge, or rehearse setting a boundary. Together, we’ll choose strategies that align with your goals, culture, and pace.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will take place by video through a secure telehealth platform. We’ll get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy, your concerns, strengths, and goals. I’ll explain confidentiality and answer your questions. It’s okay to feel nervous or unsure where to begin. You decide what you’re comfortable sharing, and we’ll move at your pace. Together, we’ll identify initial goals and next steps that fit your needs.
