Desiree Johnson

Hello and Welcome! My name is Desiree Johnson, and I am a Clinical Therapist in the state of Michigan. I earned my Master of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University in April 2014, with a specialization in Children and Family Services.

I have experience working with adolescents and adults facing a variety of mental health concerns, including:

Depression

Anxiety

Psychotic disorders

Substance use disorders

Anger management

Dual diagnosis (co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders)

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and evidence-based care. I believe that healing begins in a safe, supportive environment, where clients feel heard, respected and empowered to create meaningful and effective change.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each client's unique needs. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotion regulation, strengthen relationships and build resilience.
