Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Desiree. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with adults who seem capable on the outside but internally struggle with chronic self-doubt, overthinking, and people pleasing. Many of my clients worry they are “too much” or not good enough, even while holding a lot together in their lives.

In addition, I offer psychedelic preparation and integration support, helping you process your experiences and stay with what emerges so it can be integrated in a way that supports your day to day life.

My goal is to create a space where you can be honest without feeling judged, rushed, or misunderstood.

I also work with older adults navigating anxiety, changes in identity, and the emotional impact of getting older.

I studied journalism in undergrad with an interest in music journalism. I later worked in corporate roles in editing and project management before transitioning into clinical social work, which gives me a real understanding of pressure, expectations, and what it’s like to hold a lot together while struggling internally.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational and person-centered. I see people as whole humans, not diagnoses, and I believe change happens through a strong therapeutic relationship. Together we look at patterns like overthinking, self criticism, and difficulty setting boundaries. I use CBT, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, and practical tools to help clients build self trust and respond to themselves with more clarity and compassion.

With psychedelic preparation and integration, I support you in preparing for an experience through education, intention setting, and understanding what to expect, as well as processing what emerges afterward. This can include insights, emotions, and parts of the experience that felt confusing or hard to make sense of. The focus is on reflection and integration, helping you understand how it connects to your thoughts, emotions, and patterns and apply what feels relevant to your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you. I’ll ask about your history, what’s been weighing on you lately, and what you’re hoping might change through therapy.

It’s also a space for you to share as much or as little as feels comfortable and ask any questions you may have. It’s normal for the first couple of sessions to feel a little unfamiliar, and we’ll go at a pace that feels manageable.

From there, we’ll decide together what direction feels most helpful moving forward.
