Great to meet you!

I am Diamond James, LCSW, a therapist who is passionate about breaking down the stigma of mental health and helping others feel seen and heard. Over the past 5 years, I've gained experience that's allowed me to support adolescents to young adults who want to overcome perfectionism patterns, reframe unhealthy beliefs about themselves, others, and the world, develop their identity, and manage stress, anxiety, and transitions.

A bit about my approach to therapy

As a therapist, I'm not here to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do, nor to “fix” you. I'm here to journey with you by asking questions to help you use the strengths and insight already within.

I'm compassionate in my approach, but I don’t hesitate to challenge you when needed.

When helpful, I am open to bringing interactive and artistic components into our sessions based on what you feel you need. I also bring a social justice lens, as the systems we live in can aid or hinder our wellness.

What you can expect from our first session

I start off with getting to know you and your reasons for seeking support. I will partner with you in creating or modifying your goals for therapy, if needed. I make efforts to create a safe space for my clients; however, you determine what’s safe for you. You can expect me to be open to feedback that will help you feel you're getting what you need from our time together. I will provide you with small tasks or challenges to support you in doing the work outside of our sessions together.
