Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and former teacher, who specialized in behavior management. I received my Master of Arts Degree in Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Maryland.

I have been counseling for over 20 years in a variety of counseling settings including community counseling centers, special education schools, Department of Juvenile Services, and Higher Education. Additionally, I have completed extensive training in family and couples therapy.

My approach to therapy

I enjoy working with clients who present with a variety of issues including behavioral, emotional, and relationship challenges, as well as stress management, mood and emotional regulation, and anxiety. I work with my clients to promote healthy self-care, identify potential coping strategies and specific achievable goals. I often explore family of origin, attachment styles, communication patterns, and conflict resolution. I believe in a holistic approach and that each individual has what it takes to heal. My job is to assist them in figuring out what they need and what to let go of.

What you can expect from me

I work collaboratively with clients as they present their individual concerns. My approach is compassionate, client-centered, and tailored to each person's unique needs and goals. I believe that healing and growth happen through a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and respect. I always recognize that counseling can feel difficult in the beginning, and try to have an open, genuine conversation about any hesitations they are feeling.
