Great to meet you!

When you choose a therapist, you want to be sure to choose someone who knows and has the knowledge and range of experience to understand the issues you are dealing with. You want to choose someone with whom you will be comfortable walking, helping you as a guide to explore the path you are on and the side roads you may have missed along the way. You also want someone with the resources and experience to give practical strategies and solutions when needed.

For over 40 years, I have been a practicing psychologist, teacher, and supervisor in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. In addition to working with adults and couples, a significant part of my career has been spent working with children and their families. This work has given me a crucial understanding of human development and the entire life cycle.

I came to Baltimore from Berkeley, California, in 1980, after completing my doctoral studies, to do a post-doctoral fellowship in intensive long-term inpatient psychotherapy with adults at Sheppard and Enoch Pratt Hospital.

My approach to therapy

I am a very down-to-earth clinician who, for the most part, avoids labels and approaches the therapeutic relationship as a journey we take together- it is your journey, and I am the guide who knows the psychological terrain, but it is your journey, and my knowledge will help you find your way

What you can expect from me

  1. Increased sense of self
  2. Increased ability to use one's voice
  3. Increased ability for self-reflection
