Great to meet you!

I'm Malia — a therapist and coach with deep roots in Hawaii. I work with adults who are dealing with the kinds of challenges that don't just go away on their own: family conflict, parenting stress, relationship tension, anger that shows up faster than you want it to, and the anxiety and exhaustion that come with all of it.

I've spent years working with people from diverse backgrounds across the islands, and I bring both clinical training and real directness to my work. I'm not here to just nod along — I'm here to help you figure out what's actually going on and build a path forward that sticks. I believe in the people I work with, and I want every session to leave you with something useful.

My approach to therapy

I describe myself as a therapist with a coaching mindset — which means I care about insight, but I care just as much about action. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic approaches.

In practice, that means we'll look at the patterns keeping you stuck, understand where they come from, and work together to change them. Some clients need tools and strategies first. Others need to understand the "why" before anything else clicks. Most need both. I'll adapt to what actually works for you — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a real conversation — I want to understand what's been going on, how long it's been happening, and what you've already tried. I'll ask questions and listen closely, and by the end, we'll have a clearer picture of where you are and what working together could look like.

There's no pressure to have everything figured out before you show up. You just need to be ready to talk honestly. That's where change starts.
