Great to meet you!

My name is Don Harris, and I am a mental health professional based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am passionate about helping individuals work through life’s challenges and develop the tools they need to live healthier and more balanced lives. I believe that therapy should be a place where people feel safe, respected, and comfortable being open about what they are experiencing.

My professional background includes working with individuals who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, stress, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I have experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults who are looking for guidance, emotional support, and practical tools to help them move forward in their lives.

In my work, I focus on helping clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal is to help individuals gain insight into their experiences while also building effective coping strategies that improve emotional well-being and daily functioning.

I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel heard and supported. Many of the individuals I work with are seeking help with trauma recovery, stress management, personal growth, or navigating difficult periods in their lives. I believe that every person has strengths and resilience, and my role is to help clients discover and build on those strengths.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I believe therapy works best when it is tailored to each person’s unique needs, experiences, and goals.

I often incorporate techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based approaches. These methods help clients identify patterns in their thoughts and behaviors, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in their lives.

I focus not only on discussing challenges but also on helping clients develop practical tools they can apply outside of the therapy room. My goal is to help clients feel more confident in their ability to manage stress, improve relationships, and navigate difficult emotions.

Above all, I aim to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences and working toward personal growth.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand what brought you to therapy. During this session, we will talk about your current concerns, your personal history, and the goals you would like to work toward in therapy.

I will ask questions to better understand your experiences and help identify areas where therapy may be most helpful. We will also discuss what the therapy process looks like and how we can work together to support your progress.

My goal during the first session is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. By the end of our conversation, we will begin developing a plan for how therapy can help you move toward the changes and growth you are seeking.
