Great to meet you!

I’m warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely invested in the people I work with. I want therapy to feel like a safe, comfortable conversation where you can show up exactly as you are—even on the days when you don’t quite know what to say.

I use empathy, honesty, and humor in my sessions, and I’m not afraid to be direct when I think it will help you grow. I’ll validate what you’re feeling, but I’ll also gently challenge you to look at patterns, consider different perspectives, and recognize the things that may be keeping you stuck. I’m not the kind of therapist who will simply nod for an hour while you do all the work.

I believe you are the expert on your own life. My job is to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing, and give you practical tools to create meaningful change. We can talk about the hard things, celebrate the wins, laugh when we need to, and work together toward helping you feel more like the person you want to be.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself and know that the person sitting across from you is genuinely listening. I start by building a strong, trusting relationship and getting to know you as a person—not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms.

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and practical. I’ll validate what you’re experiencing while also challenging you when it may help you grow. Together, we’ll look at patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviors and work toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful to you.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches, which allow us to identify practical strategies you can use outside of our sessions. When it’s helpful, we can also explore past experiences and deeper patterns to better understand how they may be influencing your life today.

I don’t believe therapy has to feel overly clinical or formal. There is room for honesty, humor, difficult conversations, and even laughter. Ultimately, I want you to leave therapy feeling understood, supported, and better equipped to handle whatever life brings your way.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and making sure you feel comfortable. I know meeting a new therapist and sharing personal parts of your life can feel awkward or overwhelming, so I work hard to create a relaxed, welcoming, and judgment-free environment. You don’t need to have the perfect words or know exactly where to start—we’ll figure that out together.

We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what’s going well, what feels difficult, and what you would like to be different. I also want to understand who you are outside of the challenges you’re currently facing, including your relationships, strengths, experiences, and what matters most to you.

From there, we’ll begin identifying realistic goals for therapy and what progress would actually look like in your life. I like clients to leave sessions with greater insight, practical tools, or something specific to think about or work on between sessions.

Most importantly, the first session is also your opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you. Therapy is a relationship, and I want you to feel that you have found someone you can trust, be yourself with, and work alongside as you move toward the changes you want to make.
