Great to meet you!

Life doesn't come with a manual. Whether you're dealing with relationship issues, raising children with challenging needs, transitioning to adulthood, adjusting to college, building a career, or facing an unexpected life transition, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and to wonder if everyone else already has it all figured out. (They don't!)

These seasons of life can be exciting, but they can also bring anxiety, depression, self-doubt, behavior changes and relationship challenges. They can even uncover old wounds that begin to affect the present. Many people I work with tell me they feel like everyone else got the manual on being an adult—or a parent—and that they somehow missed it! The good news is, you don't have to figure it all out today. We'll take it one step at a time.

I'm a laid-back, down-to-earth therapist who believes that therapy should feel comfortable, relaxed, and real. For more than 25 years, I've helped children, teens, and adults navigate life's challenges with warmth, humor, and empathy.

I have a special interest in working with people of all ages with ADHD and enjoy helping them better understand how their brains work. Whether you've recently been diagnosed, have been managing ADHD for years, or simply feel like your brain works a little differently, we'll focus on understanding your strengths and developing strategies that work with your brain—not against it.

My approach to therapy

Therapy doesn't have to feel stiff or awkward. My style is relaxed, conversational, and practical. I believe it's okay to laugh, even while working through difficult things. I'm not the kind of therapist who just nods and asks, "How did that make you feel?" We'll have real conversations as we connect the dots and find strategies that fit your everyday life. Because every person is different, I tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals rather than to a diagnosis or a label. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and strengths-based approaches to help you move toward the life you want. I welcome people from all races, backgrounds, and walks of life, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community, and I strive to create a space where everyone feels seen, supported and accepted.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating and reaching out for help isn't easy. You don't have to figure everything out before coming to therapy - come as you are! Our first session is really just about getting to know one another. I'll ask questions to understand what's bringing you to therapy, what's been going on in your life, what's already working, and what you'd like to be different. Just as importantly, it's a chance for you to decide whether I feel like the right match for you. If you'd prefer a 15 minute phone call first to see if we're a good fit or to ask any questions, please feel free to reach out!

We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable, and there's no expectation that you'll share everything all at once. My hope is that you'll leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and with a better understanding of where we can go from here. When you're ready, I hope you'll reach out.
