Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Dori and I graduated with a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in NYC. I am an LCSW who specializes in advanced generalist therapy, and specializing in treating anxiety, sleep problems, trauma, and life transitions. Because I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, primarily with adults, I am skilled at treating many diagnoses.

My approach to therapy

My approach is intentional, integrative and flexible. It is important to me that the individuals I see feel supported and that we are using strategies that make sense for what is occurring in their lives so they can experience optimal outcomes.

What you can expect from me

During your initial session you can expect to experience a supportive setting that encourages opening up about what has brought you to therapy. I will guide the discussion with clarifying questions and prompts and offer encouragement while introducing to you interventions I believe will suit your needs best. Together we will explore your symptoms in detail, as well as additional life matters that have contributed to those symptoms from the past and present. I will address your questions and concerns as well as target hesitancies about getting started with therapy so you can settle in and know what to expect in upcoming sessions. You will leave your first session feeling prepared to do the work!
