Great to meet you!

For much of my life, I have been captivated by the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., so much so that this personal interest has expanded into a professional interest and informs my research, clinical work, and teaching. Intimately tied to my interest in Dr. King is my interest in attachment theory as well as the role of religion, spirituality, and moral injury in mental health treatment.

I earned my BA in psychology from the University of Kentucky and my PhD from Howard University.

My approach to therapy

I am an integrative therapist, primarily drawing from interpersonal, relational/psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral therapies. Gaining insight into your personality can be a powerful part of personal growth. To support this process, discounted personality assessment/testing is available to current psychotherapy clients. I work only with adult clients.

What you can expect from me

I work with clients from the perspective of adult attachment research. Engaging treatment from an attachment theory perspective has enabled me to see that flexibility is critical and it’s important to meet clients where they are to help achieve healing. I understand the therapeutic experience to be a collaborative and co-constructed experience that must be continually evaluated.
