Great to meet you!
I became a therapist because I wanted to support people who are suffering needlessly and help them find direction, relief, and a stronger sense of self! I believe every person deserves to feel happiness, overcome challenges, and grow through what they face.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and have been practicing independently since 2009. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Weber State University in 2006 and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from University of Utah in 2007.
One of the most important things I’ve learned is that the best tool a therapist has is themselves. I do my best to live the same skills and values I share with my clients. I also resonate with a quote from Rocky Balboa: life will knock you down, but what matters is your ability to keep getting back up and moving forward—that’s how real progress is made.
I primarily work with individuals ages 10 through retirement and draw from approaches like rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), EMDR, psychoeducation, and mindfulness-based skills. I have experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, OCD, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and borderline personality disorder. I also work with individuals who want to incorporate spiritual or religious beliefs into therapy, including concerns like scrupulosity.
Outside of my work, I’ve been married for three years and am a proud parent of seven children and two grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy watching college and professional football, fishing, and spending quality time with my family.
