Douglas is a Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW). Douglas graduated from William James College in Newton, MA in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Human Services and earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons University in Boston, MA in 2022.

Douglas is bilingual, offering therapy services in both English and Portuguese. Douglas has worked in the mental health field since 2017, providing mentoring services, in-home therapy services, and outpatient therapy in both the school setting and the group practice setting. Douglas specializes in working with individuals and families to improve communication through understanding and engagement. He works with individuals of all ages, with a focus on young adults and couples. He is a facilitator of Prepare & Enrich and provides counseling for pre-marital and married couples through this model. He utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Douglas has experience treating clients with depression, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, OCD, ADHD, low self-esteem, interpersonal relationship challenges, communication challenges, complex family dynamics, parenting challenges, and marital challenges among other topics. He is happy to provide Christ-centered counseling services upon request.

My goal is to assist you in finding the best potential in yourself through the therapeutic process. I am passionate about encouraging people to see their true selves and take the lead of their lives. I am here to help you learn about the experiences that shaped you and your unique characteristics as a human. My approach is to help you heal from past experiences and learn to view life from a perspective that allows you to live with health and purpose. I am here to help you identify values, strengths, and abilities that can be utilized in processing and overcoming life challenges. I use a client- centered and strengths-based approach, meeting you where you are, keeping you in the drivers seat of the therapeutic process, helping you to build skills to manage challenges that may come your way and working with you to develop a growth path that makes sense for you.

My goal is to create a non-judgmental, accepting, safe environment, focused on self-understanding, growth and change. My focus is to build rapport, create an healthy therapeutic relationship, and develop mutual respect, where we can collaborate in this process and identify solutions that best work for you.
