Great to meet you!

I became a therapist because of my own upbringing; I felt unheard, and I wanted to be the person who truly hears and sees others as they work through their personal struggles. That experience shaped my passion for helping people, especially when it comes to understanding how our families and early experiences shape who we are today.

I'm licensed as an LMFT in Virginia and an LCPC in Maryland, and I've worked in both school settings and private practice. While I have a special place in my heart for working with middle schoolers, young adults, and families, I also work with adults 18 and up. My real passion is couples and family therapy; I believe so many of our challenges trace back to our family dynamics and the relationships that shaped us.

My approach to therapy

I practice from a client-centered, empathetic perspective using narrative and solution-focused therapy. My goal is to help you feel heard, seen, and understood. I want to help you reclaim your life and move toward healing, acceptance, and self-love.

A lot of my work centers on helping people process their upbringing and navigate the transition into adulthood. I often see clients working through forgiveness, grief, and healing. You might be grieving the relationship you wish you had with your parents, or even with yourself. Together, we'll work toward realization ("what happened wasn't my fault"), acceptance ("this is my reality"), and ultimately, self-love. I believe in helping you see that you're not alone in your struggles, and that you can move forward and make what happened to you work for you instead of capturing you in the past.

I bring my whole self to our sessions—my experience, my voice, and some humor. Life is messy, but therapy should be real.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to feel welcomed and heard. I'll create a safe space where we can start exploring your experiences and feelings together. We'll work collaboratively to identify your goals and the areas where you want to grow. My approach is warm and authentic, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, because that's where the real work happens.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or just trying to make sense of your past and build a better future, I'm here to help you move from frustration to realization, acceptance, and empowerment. Let's work together to help you make peace with your past and build the life you deserve.
