Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 13 years of healthcare experience. I earned my Family Nurse Practitioner degree from South University and completed my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training through Wilkes University.

My passion is helping people understand the "why" behind their symptoms, not just treating them. While I provide evidence-based psychiatric care, I also specialize in taking a deeper look at the factors that may be contributing to mental health concerns. My background in both primary care and psychiatry allows me to recognize the strong connection between the brain and body and approach care from a more comprehensive perspective.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, stress, and life transitions. In addition to traditional psychiatric treatment, I have a special interest in integrative and root-cause psychiatry. Together, we may explore how sleep, nutrition, gut health, hormones, inflammation, physical health, chronic stress, and lifestyle factors can influence emotional well-being and overall functioning.

I believe that meaningful change often happens when we move beyond symptom management alone and develop a deeper understanding of what may be driving those symptoms. My goal is to help clients gain insight into their health, identify opportunities for healing and growth, and create a personalized treatment plan that supports both symptom relief and long-term wellness.

I strive to provide compassionate, collaborative care in a supportive environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take an active role in their mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care should be personalized, collaborative, and focused on the whole person. While medication can be an important part of treatment, I also recognize that factors such as sleep, stress, physical health, nutrition, relationships, hormones, inflammation, gut health, and life experiences can all impact emotional well-being.

My approach combines evidence-based psychiatric care with a root-cause and integrative perspective. In addition to addressing symptoms, I work with clients to better understand potential underlying factors that may be contributing to how they feel. I enjoy helping clients explore the connection between their mental and physical health while creating a treatment plan that aligns with their goals, values, and overall wellness.

I have a particular interest in helping clients understand the "why" behind their symptoms. Together, we may explore how lifestyle habits, chronic stress, nutrition, sleep quality, gut health, and other health factors can influence mood, focus, energy, and emotional resilience. While there is rarely a single cause for mental health concerns, identifying contributing factors can create opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.

I strive to create a supportive, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and actively participating in their care. My goal is not only to help clients find relief from symptoms, but also to help them build a foundation for long-term wellness, resilience, and an improved quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to get to know you as a person, not just the symptoms that brought you in. We'll talk about your current concerns, your mental and physical health history, what has or hasn't worked for you in the past, and what you hope to gain from treatment. We'll also begin exploring the experiences, stressors, health concerns, and life circumstances that may have contributed to where you are today.

I believe our symptoms often provide important clues about what the mind and body may be struggling with or trying to communicate. Understanding your unique story helps us look beyond symptoms alone and identify patterns and contributing factors that may be affecting your overall well-being.

I want our first visit to feel comfortable, supportive, and conversational. Building trust and understanding your experiences creates a strong foundation for meaningful progress and a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs and goals.

By the end of the session, you'll have a better understanding of my recommendations, available treatment options, and the next steps in your care. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path forward, knowing that we are working together toward meaningful and lasting change.
