Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 21 years of experience and a background that

goes well beyond the therapy room. Before I became a therapist, I worked across a wide

range of fields — and I bring that broad human perspective into every session. I don't

approach your struggle with a clipboard. I approach it with genuine curiosity about who you

are.

I'm trained in EMDR, CBT, ACT, and DBT, which means I have real tools for real problems —

anxiety that won't quiet down, ADHD that's been dismissed for years, trauma that's never

been properly addressed, grief that doesn't follow a timeline, or a relationship that needs

rebuilding. I work with adults, older adults and seniors, and adolescents, and I offer both in-

person sessions in Fenton, Michigan and telehealth throughout the state.

I also accept Medicare, VA Community Care, TRICARE, and over 25 other insurance plans

— because access to quality care shouldn't be the barrier that stops someone from getting

better.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe in a one-size therapy. I'll start by getting to know you — not just what

brought you in, but what your life actually looks like, what matters to you, and what you've

already tried that hasn't quite worked. From there, I'll use the approach that makes the most

sense for your specific situation.

For trauma and PTSD, I lean heavily on EMDR — a highly effective, evidence-based method

for processing experiences that still feel too present even years later. For anxiety and

depression, I draw on CBT and ACT to help clients understand and redirect the thought

patterns that keep them stuck. For couples, I focus on building real trust and

communication, not just conflict management scripts.

Whatever we're working on, you'll notice two things consistently: I'm direct, and I'm warm. I

won't let you stay comfortable when that comfort is what's keeping you from moving. But

I'll always make sure you feel respected, seen, and like you're not doing this alone.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form. I'll ask about you — your life, what's

been weighing on you, what you're hoping therapy can change. I'll also share a bit about

myself and how I work, so you're not sitting across from a mystery.

I've had clients who walked in skeptical after bad therapy experiences, clients who hadn't

talked to anyone about their trauma in decades, clients who weren't sure therapy was even

for them. That's all okay. The first session is about establishing enough trust to take a real

next step together — not about having everything figured out before you arrive.

Come as you are. I'm not here to evaluate you. I'm here to help you figure out what's next.
