Great to meet you!

Our mental health is an aspect of us that does not receive much needed attention and intervention. I am trained as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I underwent rigorous training in psychiatric and mental health nurse practice, which has equipped me to provide industry standard and evidence-based treatment interventions. I have worked in several care settings that included subacute rehab centers; skilled nursing facilities and independent living facilities. I provide an array of services that include psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapeutic interventions, as well as psychiatric medication management. I treat clients with an array of mental health disorders such as mood disorder (major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders); psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, delusional disorder, etc); obsessive-compulsive and other related disorders; substance-use disorders, to mention just a few.

My approach to therapy

As psychiatric mental nurse practitioner, my approach to care is client oriented. I assist my clients in attaining optimal mental health by being empathetic. I do this by creating a care space where clients feel understood, respected, validated, and emotionally safe. I also approach client care with a great of collaboration. I work with clients to set treatment goals together, check in on progress, and adjust plans as needed in order to meet the client's treatment goals. My approach to client care is also solution-focused by assisting clients to identify practical steps to care, build skills, and move towards meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

My clients will expect from the very first encounter to receive a listening and attentive ear and empathetic understanding of the ongoing situation. My clients will expect to have a provider who will be nonjudgmental and open-minded. They will expect to meet a provider who will collaborate with them to hatch out evidence-based treatments and interventions that will meet their mental health treatment goals. More importantly, they will meet a provider who is respectful of their norms and value. Someone who will respect for being them.
