Great to meet you!

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, past trauma, or feeling stuck in patterns you can't seem to break? Are you searching for counseling that is firmly rooted in Christian faith, where biblical truth and professional clinical care work together toward healing?

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor specializing in Christ-centered counseling for adults experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, and difficult life transitions.

Through Higher Ground Christian Counseling, I provide a faith-based therapy that integrates Scripture, biblical principles and evidence-based clinical practices. My Christian faith is not simply an addition to my counseling approach; it is the foundation upon which my practice is built.

I believe your past may have shaped you, but it does not have to define your future. My passion is helping you recognize your strengths, renew your thinking, and move forward with confidence, hope, and faith.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, direct, and grounded in Christian faith. I believe lasting change begins when we learn to recognize, challenge, and renew the thoughts that influence our lives. I integrate biblical principles with evidence based approaches including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing.

During our sessions, I tailor treatment to your individual needs, utilizing the therapeutic approaches listed in my profile. With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we will identify and challenge negative thought patterns that influence your emotions and behaviors. Through EMDR, we may work on processing distressing memories and reducing their emotional impact. The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Act) helps you develop psychological flexibility and take actions consistent with your values. I also use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and build confidence in making meaningful changes. Throughout our work, we will identify practical strategies you can apply in everyday life.

You can expect a warm, honest, and collaborative environment where you will be encouraged, challenged, and supported. My counseling approach is firmly rooted in Christian faith, integrating Scripture, prayer, and biblical principles with evidence-based clinical practices. Together, we will work toward meaningful healing, renewed confidence, and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Taking the first step toward counseling can feel overwhelming, especially when you're unsure what to expect. Our first session will take place through a secure, private video appointment, allowing us to meet face-to-face from the comfort of your own space. The session will be a relaxed one-on-one conversation where we begin getting to know each other. There is no pressure to share everything at once, and you are always welcome to proceed at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I'll take time to listen to your story, understand the challenges you're facing, and explore what you hope to accomplish through counseling. Together, we'll begin to identify your goals and discuss how we can work toward them. Our work together will be grounded in Christian faith and biblical principles, while incorporating Scripture and prayer in ways that respect your comfort and individual needs.

My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, respected, encouraged, and hopeful about the journey ahead.
