Great to meet you!

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in pediatric trauma care, emergency medicine, and psychiatric emergency services. My experience caring for patients in emergency departments has shown me firsthand how difficult it can be for people—especially in underserved communities—to access timely mental health care. I’m passionate about expanding access and providing care that is compassionate, culturally responsive, and grounded in each person’s individual needs. I also value integrating evidence-based psychiatric care with culturally meaningful approaches to wellness.

My approach to therapy

My approach is centered on building trust, listening carefully, and meeting you where you are. I believe effective mental health care should be collaborative, culturally humble, and tailored to the whole person—not just a diagnosis or set of symptoms. I provide psychiatric assessment, medication management, and crisis intervention when needed, while working with you to identify goals that feel meaningful and realistic. My work with Hawaiian-focused health organizations has also deepened my commitment to honoring cultural traditions and perspectives, including the Hawaiian concept of lokahi, or balance and harmony.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a supportive and judgment-free conversation about what brings you to care, your current symptoms, your mental health and medical history, and what you hope to accomplish. I’ll take time to understand your experiences and concerns before discussing potential treatment options. If medication is appropriate, we’ll talk through the options together, including what to expect and any questions or concerns you may have. Most importantly, I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, respected, and confident that we have a plan moving forward.
