Great to meet you!

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, ADHD, depression, chronic illness, grief, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. I’m licensed in Michigan, Ohio, and Florida and have worked across medical and behavioral health settings, including 11 years serving veterans and their families.

My style is warm, relaxed, practical, and straightforward. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be yourself and talk openly without feeling judged or overly analyzed. I’m an active therapist, so I won’t just sit back and listen. I’ll ask questions, offer perspective, help you recognize patterns, and give you practical strategies you can use in everyday life. My goal is for you to feel supported while also making meaningful progress toward the changes that matter to you.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative process; you are the driver, and I am the navigator. You decide where you want to go, and I help you understand what may be getting in the way and find practical ways to move forward. I’m an active participant in our sessions, so you can expect me to ask questions, offer perspective, teach skills, and gently challenge you when it may be helpful.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing, but I don’t believe therapy should feel one-size-fits-all. We’ll focus on what works for you and develop realistic strategies you can use in your everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about what you’re currently experiencing, your history, what’s going well, and where you would like things to be different. You’re always welcome to ask questions too! Therapy should feel like a conversation, not an interview.

We’ll talk about what you hope to get out of therapy and may begin identifying practical strategies or next steps right away. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable with our fit and have a clear sense of what we’ll work on together and where we go from here.
