Great to meet you!

I’m an African-American male born and raised in inner city, midwest America. I attended college at Norfolk State University where I earned a BA in Psychology, before attending Case Western Reserve University where I received a Masters Degree in Social Work. I’ve been practicing in the social work arena for over 25 years in various capacities including individual, couples and group therapy.

My approach to therapy

I tend to take a strength based, trauma informed approach to therapy as I believe my role is to help the individual and/or family in setting their own goals and objectives, in determining their own destiny. I tend to try to find the silver lining in adversity and challenge. I pride myself on being empathetic, non-judgmental and a good listener.

What you can expect from me

Initial visits include introductions, rapport building, going over expectations and guidelines. Clients should walk away from therapy sessions knowing that they are making strides in the right direction toward their individual goals and objectives. They should also know that the information they’ve shared in session will remain confidential.
