Great to meet you!

Hi, i'm Emily! I am a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and discover their own strengths.

I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across a variety of settings. Throughout my career, I have supported clients facing concerns related to eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and emotional regulation.

As a military spouse, I have personally experienced many of the unique challenges that come with military life, including frequent transitions, relocations, changes in support systems, and the uncertainty that can accompany deployments and career changes. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of the resilience required to navigate these challenges and allows me to connect with and support military spouses and families in a meaningful way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, flexible, and centered around you as a whole person — not just the challenges you're facing. I draw from a mix of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to what feels most helpful for each individual. I also offer EMDR for those who are interested in processing trauma in a deeper way. Above all, I strive to create a space that feels non-judgmental and supportive, where you can be seen for who you are, not just what you’re going through. Therapy does not have to feel stiff or clinical!

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, but my goal is to make your first session as comfortable and welcoming as possible. During our initial appointment, we'll spend time getting to know one another and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, and goals so I can gain a better understanding of your unique experiences and needs.

There is no pressure to share everything at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you are always welcome to ask questions about the therapy process. Together, we'll begin identifying goals for our work and discuss how therapy can best support you moving forward.

My hope is that you leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of what our work together may look like.
