Great to meet you!

Emily Hodson is dedicated to providing affirming, inclusive, and trauma-informed care to individuals, couples, and families, using an eclectic, client-centered approach to providing holistic mental health care. She has extensive experience with LGBTQIA+, alternative lifestyles, sex-positive, non-monogamous, and chronic illness communities.

My approach to therapy

My work draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including Exposure and Response Prevention as needed), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapies, and Strengths-based practices. My eclectic approach includes Humanistic, Systems, and Feminist theory to empower clients, promote resilience, and foster meaningful change. I aim to treat whole individuals because people are not only symptoms, they are whole and complete people moving through a myriad of systems.

What you can expect from me

The first two sessions typically are an intake and getting-to-know-you sessions filled with lots of questions to learn your history, background in order to establish a baseline and view difficulties you experience in a greater context. After we establish a baseline, we goal-set and get to work!
