Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Emily Olsen, a Licensed Professional Counselor and yoga teacher with 15 years of experience helping people work through trauma and attachment issues. I take a holistic approach, paying close attention to how the nervous system and body hold onto stress. I utilize Somatic Experiences and Internal Family Systems. My style is direct. I'll tell you what I'm noticing and won't dance around hard things, because I think that honesty is part of what helps people heal. My goal in our work together is for you to leave feeling more grounded, more connected to yourself, and empowered to trust your own experience again.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is trauma conscious and holistic, meaning I look at the whole person, not just the symptom or problem someone walks in with. I'm looking for the root. I pay close attention to the nervous system and the body, since so much of what we carry from trauma and attachment wounds lives below the level of conscious thought. I believe that honesty and gentle transparency are part of what actually helps people change. My goal is always to help clients feel more grounded, more empowered, and learn more about themselves.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll get an overview of what's happening for you right now, what's happened in your past, and what you're hoping for in the future. This gives us a full picture, not just a snapshot of the problem that brought you in. From there, we'll build a plan together that actually fits your life and your goals.
