Great to meet you!

My name is Emmanuel Nwala, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and US Army Veteran. I come from a multicultural background. I have a PhD in Psychology, and a Master of Science degree in Counseling. I have a passion for helping people reach their self-actualization, whatever that may be for each person. I enter a counseling relationship with open mind, enthusiasm and hope for healing for whomever I am working with. I provide Christian counseling if and when requested. I look forward to working together, with you.

My approach to therapy

I am eclectic in my approach to counseling. This means that I use different counseling modalities/ techniques in my counseling practice because one approach may not fit every person. I am trained at graduate education level in the use of different counseling techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Behavior Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Christian based counseling etc.

What you can expect from me

I am very person-centered and goal oriented. This means that I see the person I am working with as a person different from the presenting problems. I work with the person to establish goals for therapy and focus a lot of attention to helping the person reach their goals for therapy. You can expect me to use active and reflective listening in each session to ensure you feel heard. You can expect me to focus on your goals for therapy each session. You can expect that I will affirm you each session
