Great to meet you!

I have 7 years of experience in a community mental health setting, and have experience treating clients with a variety of issues, troubles, and mental health diagnoses; including mood disorders, thought disorders/psychosis, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. My clinical experience is augmented by a creative and artistic passion as well as a fertile sociological imagination.

My approach to therapy

I don't believe that therapy exists to teach a person how to use "therapy talk" and non-profit lingo, and it's important as a therapist to understand YOUR approach to communication and conceptualizing life. I really believe that productive therapy involves a balance of being affirmed and being challenged. I love metaphors, pop culture references, psychoeducation, and little bits of humor when appropriate.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me will show that I'm inquisitive and interested in getting to know you and understand your perception of the troubles in your life.
