Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Arizona and a Licensed Mental Health Associate Counselor in Washington State. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Education from Oakland University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Central Michigan University.

I bring over 25 years of experience in the field of Behavioral Health, including 10 years of direct counseling and therapeutic practice. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My clinical work includes both individual and group counseling with clients diagnosed with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and dementia.

I adhere to the American Psychological Association (APA) Code of Ethics and the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics. To ensure I provide the highest standard of care, I complete at least 30 hours of continuing education every two years and consistently seek opportunities to expand and refine my professional skills.

My passion lies in empowering individuals to develop healthier relationships, enhance emotional regulation, and build the tools needed to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

My approach to therapy

I believe that meaningful change begins with commitment. Healing is a deeply personal journey, and while guidance and support can provide direction, each individual is ultimately responsible for how they engage in the process and shape their own outcomes. I recognize that there are no perfect therapists and no perfect clients; what matters most is the willingness to work together to build a strong therapeutic foundation that fosters growth, resilience, and positive change.

What you can expect from me

Clients working with me can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, respected, and understood. Because I have extensive experience with both individual and group counseling, I tailor each session to meet the client’s unique needs—whether that means developing coping strategies for anxiety, or processing complex emotions related to trauma or grief.

Clients can also expect to gain practical tools for daily living and emotional regulation. My approach integrates evidence-based interventions with real-life skills training, such as communication strategies, boundary setting, stress management techniques, and ways to improve social interaction. I focus on helping clients increase personal accountability, build healthy relationships, and develop resilience in the face of life transitions.

In addition, I place strong emphasis on cultural sensitivity and respect for individual experiences. Having worked with people from diverse backgrounds for over two decades, I recognize that mental health and well-being are shaped by culture, identity, and lived experiences. My goal is to walk alongside clients, empowering them to create meaningful change and enhance their quality of life.
