Great to meet you!

Everyone needs assistance and guidance from time to time. I have spent the majority of my career in mental health working with the homeless population, youth, teens and individuals with severe mental health concerns. I have helped individuals to navigate a variety of issues. I am comfortable working with individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum, the LGBTQ+ population, navigating trauma related issues, anxiety, depression, and management of interpersonal relationships. I believe people should be allowed to grow and progress from whatever type of issues they are struggling with while being treating with compassion, respect and care. Each client should leave a session with tools they can implement in their own lives, even if that is just the release of being able to talk about their troubles or concerns.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy with a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Sometimes our emotions just become too much for us to deal with on our own. I believe my sessions are compassionate yet challenging enough to help you grow. My experience is not only academic but personal as well. I hope that you will benefit from speaking with me and I can help you enrich your life and reach your full potential. I have most evenings and all day Sundays open at this time for availability. I am hoping to be able to expand my availability even more moving forward.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, I want to get to know you and hear about specific struggles you are facing. I review your current situation and circumstances, history, support system and any coping skills you have been utilizing that help. I also try to ask basic questions about sleep and appetite to determine what level you are functioning at at this time and what types of support I can provide for you. It is also important for me to establish rapport and trust and although it takes some time to do this, it is imperative for you to feel safe and comfortable with anyone you speak with on a therapeutic level.
