Great to meet you!
I am a Licensed Therapist and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 15 years of professional experience. I worked in community mental health for the past 10 years prior to transitioning to private practice. In my work in community mental health I worked with individuals with a wide range of diagnoses, including schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and substance use disorders.
I have professional experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, with people with complex trauma, with people with complex medical conditions impacting their mental health, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
I have also worked as a supervisor and in social work higher education. I have training and experience in providing multicultural therapy. I have worked with clients, students, and employees from a wide range of backgrounds providing services that align with their values and beliefs.
About me as an individual- I am part of the LGBTQ community, and have worked with LGBTQ clients, volunteered running LGBTQ focused peer support groups, in particular a group for disabled LGBTQ people. I am live with multiple invisible disabilities giving me lived experience navigating the world as a disabled person. If you would feel more comfortable having a therapist who LGBTQ and/or disabled, you can know that you will have that with me as someone who has direct experience as a part of these communities.
