I am an independently licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and have been a practicing clinician for over 15 years. My clinical practice has included treating various mental health conditions with a large focus on depression, anxiety, and life transitions. I have hold specialty certifications in grief counseling, anxiety treatment, and complementary & integrative health. My counseling style pulls from a variety of therapeutic modalities to create an individualized treatment approach. Some techniques I employ include elements of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Harm Reduction, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Solution Focused Brief Treatment. I believe that emotional/mental health and well-being is paramount to living a fulfilling life and have been humbled to watch the transformation of some of the people I have worked with through the years. For the convenience of my clients, my counseling services are delivered through secure video conferencing (telehealth).
I take an individualized approach to working with people acknowledging them as the expert on their lives. I partner with my clients to create goals that are meaningful to them while offering a safe place to challenge interfering thoughts, beliefs, or behaviors. My style offers a unique touch of genuine empathy, understanding, and motivation to help people improve. I am passionate about empowering others to transform their lives by accepting their past, managing their present, and being excited for their future
My hope is that clients leave a session with me feeling empowered but also a bit tired from really digging deep to participate in challenging transformative work. It is my hope to help someone get to a place where they are better equipped to manage their symptoms and for my role to no longer be needed (or needed less). It is not uncommon for me to assign homework because my goal is for clients to practice skills they learn throughout our work together.
