Great to meet you!

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself—without judgment and without feeling like you have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.

I bring many years of experience as a licensed professional counselor and educator, working with adolescents, young adults, adults, and families as they navigate anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationships, parenting, school and career concerns, and the many challenges that come with balancing a busy life.

My approach is warm, practical, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I’m a good listener, but I also believe therapy should help you move forward. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s getting in your way, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, build practical strategies, and identify changes that feel realistic and meaningful.

Most importantly, I want therapy to feel like a place where you can be honest, feel understood, and leave with a clearer sense of where you’re headed.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and individualized. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, identify what may be keeping you stuck, and develop strategies that help you move forward.

I draw from person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches, tailoring our work to your needs rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model. We may explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or behaviors, but we’ll also focus on what you can do with that insight in your everyday life.

I tend to be warm, conversational, and straightforward. I’ll listen and give you space when you need it, but I’ll also ask questions, offer perspective, challenge you when it may be helpful, and work with you toward meaningful change. My goal is for therapy to feel supportive and comfortable while still being purposeful and productive.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is really about getting to know each other and beginning to understand what brought you to therapy. You don’t need to come prepared with the “right” things to say or have everything figured out ahead of time.

We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, what you’d like to be different, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions to learn more about you and your experiences, but the conversation will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

We’ll also begin identifying some goals for our work together and talk about what might be most helpful moving forward. Most importantly, the first session gives you a chance to get a feel for me and my style and decide whether I’m someone you feel comfortable talking with. Therapy is a partnership, and finding the right fit matters.
