Great to meet you!

I think the most important thing my clients should know about me is that I really value authenticity in my practice. I won’t be a ‘blank slate’ therapist because I see our genuine relationship as the most important avenue for healing. I want my clients to come to therapy as they are, however they can. For me, therapy isn’t a way to “fix” what’s “broken”, but a way to help you connect to your whole self authentically and compassionately. That’s how deep healing is done. I also recognize that our wellbeing and mental health is greatly impacted by our social, family, and physical realities, and am committed to empowering my clients and building resilience. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a PhD in Social Work from the University of Tennessee and 16 years of clinical experience. I work with adults who are struggling with burn-out, feeling overwhelmed or disconnected, or like they are “never enough”. In my free time I like hiking, baking, reading, and practicing martial arts.

My approach to therapy

I have a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy. I don’t believe in one size fits all therapy, so I tailor my approach in our time together to fit your values, personality, preferences, and goals using techniques and skills based on rigorous research. I provide my clients with a relaxed, empathic space for doing their inner work. I’m certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and trained in IFS/parts work, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and somatic therapy techniques.

What you can expect from me

My primary goal is making sure that you leave every session feeling deeply heard and seen. Depending on your goals and needs, our sessions can include skills and practices for managing stress, taking care of overwhelming emotions, improving interpersonal skills, and developing self compassion. Our time together will facilitate deep inner work, developing insights into patterns that keep you feeling stuck in your relationships, in your life, or “in your head”.
