Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Feitima Washington, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who believes that mental health care should feel collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you—not one-size-fits-all.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, mood disorders, and sleep difficulties. My approach combines thoughtful medication management with education, listening, and ongoing support. I take the time to understand not only your symptoms, but also how they are affecting your relationships, work, school, and everyday life.

Whether you’re seeking care for the first time or looking for a treatment plan that better fits where you are today, my goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you feel heard and respected. Together at Journey to Healthy Living, we’ll explore your concerns, discuss your options, and develop a treatment plan that aligns with your individual needs and goals.

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. I’m here to help you take the next step toward feeling more balanced, supported, and like yourself again.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is warm, collaborative, and individualized. I believe effective mental health treatment starts with listening and understanding who you are as a person—not simply focusing on a diagnosis or a list of symptoms.

I take the time to understand your concerns, goals, lifestyle, and what you’ve experienced with treatment in the past. Together, we’ll explore your options and develop a treatment plan that feels realistic and appropriate for your needs. When medication is part of your care, I’ll make sure you understand the purpose, potential benefits, and possible side effects so you can make informed decisions.

I also believe that progress doesn’t always happen overnight. My goal is to provide consistent support, education, and encouragement while adjusting your treatment as your needs change. Above all, I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable being honest about what is and isn’t working so that we can work together toward meaningful improvement.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and understand what you’re experiencing beyond just a diagnosis or list of symptoms. We’ll talk about what brought you to care, your current concerns, your mental and medical health history, previous treatments or medications, and how things have been affecting your everyday life.

I’ll also ask about your goals—what you would like to feel, think, or function differently in your day-to-day life. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to share what’s important to you and ask questions along the way.

Together, we’ll discuss your treatment options and create a plan that is individualized to your needs and goals. If medication is appropriate, I’ll explain the options, including potential benefits, side effects, and what to expect, so you can make informed decisions about your care.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before our first appointment. My goal is to provide a comfortable, judgment-free space where you feel heard and supported, and to make sure you leave with a clearer understanding of your next steps.
