Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor with a Master of Education in School Counseling and a background in education before becoming a therapist. I specialize in trauma and EMDR and also work with anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and difficult life transitions. I especially enjoy helping teens and adults who feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, perfectionism, self-doubt, or reactions to painful past experiences. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel understood while also doing meaningful work toward lasting change.

I've been married for 22 years, and our daughter keeps the family calendar full. You can usually find me at her school events as a Booster with a camera in hand, or at home reading, planning our next trip, and enjoying the summer weather with our Frenchie and mini Dachshund.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and collaborative, but I’m also an active therapist who will offer feedback, ask meaningful questions, and help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I tailor therapy to the individual, drawing from EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based approaches depending on your needs and goals. I believe insight is important, but therapy should also help you develop practical ways to cope, communicate, set boundaries, and respond differently to the things that are affecting your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for me to learn about you, what has been bringing you to therapy, and what you would most like to change or feel differently about. You don’t have to tell your entire story at once, especially when painful or traumatic experiences are involved—we can move at a pace that feels manageable. We’ll begin identifying your goals and talking about what type of treatment may be most helpful, while giving you the opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
