Great to meet you!

I’m Felix Murad, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor based in Texas, specializing in the treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders, and trauma. I use evidence-based methods such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients gain lasting relief from intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and distressing memories.

My background spans over 10 years of clinical experience helping adults navigate the intersection of anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and identity. I integrate principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build emotional flexibility, reduce avoidance, and reconnect clients with what matters most to them.

I provide structured yet collaborative therapy, direct, compassionate, and goal-oriented. My work centers on helping high-functioning individuals break free from cycles of fear and control to create meaningful, value-driven lives.

My approach to therapy

I view each person as the expert on their own experience and work collaboratively to tailor therapy to their needs. My approach is trauma-informed, humanistic, and guided by neuroscience-based interventions proven to create measurable change.

For OCD and anxiety, I use ERP & CBT to help clients face intrusive thoughts safely and effectively, replacing avoidance with confidence. For trauma, I use EMDR to reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories and restore a sense of control and safety. Across modalities, I weave in ACT and DBT skills to strengthen mindfulness, emotion regulation, and values-based decision-making.

Therapy with me is structured but flexible. I balance scientific precision with humanity, humor, and authenticity.

What you can expect from me

Our first session focuses on understanding your story, identifying your goals, and establishing a clear plan for treatment. We’ll review your current challenges, discuss relevant history, and begin mapping patterns that maintain distress. I also introduce key principles behind ERP or EMDR so you know exactly how therapy works and what to expect.

You can expect a collaborative, judgment-free environment where you’ll feel heard and respected. By the end of our first meeting, you’ll leave with insight, a personalized treatment direction, and small steps to begin regaining control of your life between sessions.
