Great to meet you!

My mission is to connect with couples to assist them in transforming and harmonizing their lives. Many people are dealing with some kind of trauma or trigger from their past which has continued to create a hurdle in their current lives.

My own story has a similar thread. My marriage was toxic, and when I realized how much it was affecting my children, I asked him to seek help. Instead he divorced us. This led to my returning to school and participating in a fantastic program through PCC called Transitions where I was finally able to identify my own values and interests rather than going along with the wants of others.

Based on what I discovered I sought an undergrad degree in social work, where I learned much about taking in the whole of a person and the worlds in which they move. After completing this degree in 2014 I went on the seek a Masters in Marriage and Family counseling.

This was a logical next step in that I was so aware of the interconnectedness, or lack of it, in the home. When we feel safe and secure in our family we are better prepared to face the world outside our front door. When we feel unsupported at home we are less prepared and have to work harder to gain that sense of security.

My passion is to work with couples and families because then everyone knows the hurt and challenges faced by the others. We are all on the same page and can work together toward the common goal of transformation, healing and harmony within the relationships.

In addition I do work with individuals, especially if they have trauma in their story adding a hurdle to living life to its fullest today. Bear in mind that when I am working with a single person in the room I am also aware of and considering the people/support systems surrounding that individual. My lens is always that of a wholistic look at your worlds.

My approach to therapy

I am an Adlerian therapist. This means I am very aware of the interplay in relationships, and how those relationships shape the way we interact in life. I believe our early life plays a big part in how we develop. Additionally, I see that there are specific pieces which set us up better to be successful in living a full life. Though our past shapes us, we do not have to be defined by this past. I am here to assist you, to walk alongside you as you look at the pieces of your past that are holding you back, assisting you in breaking free from those things you no longer want to be a part of your life.

As a trauma therapist I incorporate a variety of techniques designed to meet you where you are. The focus is always on helping you to heal and achieve more harmony. In some cases this might mean talk therapy, however, it might also mean Sandtray, Somatic, and/or Polyvagal work.
