Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Fobella Nzobella, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). My passion is helping individuals achieve improved mental health, emotional well-being, and recovery from substance use disorders through compassionate, evidence-based care.

I earned my advanced nursing degrees and completed specialized training in psychiatry, allowing me to provide comprehensive care that addresses both mental and physical health needs. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan in outpatient clinics, residential programs, and substance use treatment programs.

My areas of specialization include:

  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Anxiety disorders and stress-related conditions
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Trauma-related disorders and PTSD
  • Substance Use Disorders (alcohol, opioids, cocaine, cannabis, and nicotine)
  • Medication management
  • Relapse prevention and recovery support
  • Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders

I believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. My approach is collaborative and patient-centered, focusing on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to participate in their treatment decisions.

Whether you are seeking help for a mental health concern, recovery from substance use, medication management, or support during a difficult life transition, I am committed to working with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your goals and enhances your quality of life.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing, wellness, and lasting recovery.

My approach to therapy

My Approach to Care

I believe that effective mental health and substance use treatment begins with a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, empathy, and collaboration. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable discussing their concerns, challenges, and goals.

I use a patient-centered and evidence-based approach, recognizing that each person's experiences and needs are unique. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all treatment plan, I work closely with clients to develop individualized treatment strategies that address their specific symptoms, life circumstances, strengths, and recovery goals.

My approach includes:

  • Comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and assessment
  • Medication management with ongoing education regarding benefits, risks, side effects, and treatment expectations
  • Supportive psychotherapy and motivational interviewing techniques
  • Relapse prevention counseling for substance use disorders
  • Treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions
  • Lifestyle and wellness interventions, including sleep hygiene, stress management, nutrition, exercise, and healthy coping skills
  • Trauma-informed care that acknowledges the impact of past experiences on current mental health
  • Collaborative treatment planning involving clients, families, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare providers when appropriate

I view recovery as a journey rather than a destination. Whether a client is seeking symptom relief, emotional stability, recovery from addiction, or improved quality of life, my focus is on helping them develop practical skills, build resilience, and achieve sustainable long-term wellness.

What you can expect from me

What Clients Can Expect From Their First Session

During the first appointment, my primary goal is to get to know you as a person. Not just your symptoms or diagnosis. I strive to create a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns, experiences, and treatment goals.

Our initial session typically involves a comprehensive assessment in which we discuss:

  • Your current concerns and symptoms
  • Mental health and medical history
  • Substance use history, if applicable
  • Previous treatment experiences
  • Family, social, and relationship history
  • Stressors, strengths, and support systems
  • Current medications and treatment needs
  • Personal goals for recovery and wellness

Together, we will identify the challenges you are facing and develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. If medication is appropriate, we will discuss treatment options, expected benefits, potential side effects, and answer any questions you may have.

My goal is for every client to leave the first session with greater clarity, hope, and confidence in the path forward. Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, substance use, or another mental health concern, I am committed to working alongside you to support your growth, recovery, and long-term success.
