Relationship Issues and Women's Issues

Great to meet you!

I have worked in the mental health/addiction field for over 20 years, in community outpatient services, inpatient treatment, street outreach, women’s day treatment and an innovative model Recovery Educational Center. I anchored a team that pioneered peer advocacy in New York State. It was when I attended Naropa University in Boulder Colorado that I truly began my own empowering journey. Now that I am semi-retired, I am able to see a small number of clients through telehealth.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I intentionally take a client centered, strength based approach; working to understand and inhabit the world view of each individual. I draw from cognitive-behavioral approaches (DBT, CBT), EMDR and bilateral stimulation techniques, relaxation, motivational stage approaches, educational theory, the telling of our own story, and my personal experience of healing strategies.

What you can expect from our first session

I believe empowerment and self-expression are the two most important take-aways. My strengths are in fostering connection, identifying obstacles that keep you from being your authentic self, and learning and practicing techniques and skills that can help to calm, soothe, activate, and create space for change.
