Great to meet you!

My name is Gernine Previl and I am a dual-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. I earned my graduate degree from Walden University and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree to further advance my practice.

I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy through a hybrid model, offering both in-person and telehealth visits. I work with adolescents (18+), adults, and older adults experiencing a variety of mental health conditions. My areas of specialization include ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, brief psychosis and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported. I combine medication management with brief psychotherapy, depending on each person’s needs, and I work with adolescents (13+), adults, and older adults.

I integrate a warm, approachable style with a touch of humor to help clients feel comfortable throughout the process. I meet clients through a hybrid model, offering both in-person and telehealth sessions, so care is convenient and accessible. My goal is to empower clients to develop strategies, improve mental wellness, and achieve meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, safe, and nonjudgmental environment where they are encouraged to share their experiences openly. I begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand mental health history, current concerns, and personal goals. Together, we identify priorities and create an individualized plan, which may include medication management, brief psychotherapy, or a combination.

My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and supported from the very beginning. I aim to establish a collaborative relationship, set clear, achievable goals, and equip clients with strategies to improve their mental wellness and daily functioning.
