Great to meet you!

I have 30 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland in 1993 and have spent my career creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. Clients often describe me as approachable, compassionate, and easy to talk to, while also appreciating my ability to provide honest feedback and practical guidance.

My passion for this work is also personal. As a young adult, I experienced depression and sought support through therapy. That experience had a profound impact on my life and inspired me to pursue a career helping others. I saw firsthand how meaningful it can be to have someone listen, understand, and guide you through difficult times. Because of that experience, I continue to believe that seeking therapy is a sign of strength and that people can benefit from counseling at different points throughout their lives whenever they need support, perspective, or a safe place to grow.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel personalized and collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all. My approach focuses on helping clients better understand themselves, build on their strengths, and develop healthier ways to cope with challenges. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on each client’s unique needs and goals, with an emphasis on creating meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable working relationship. I will spend time learning about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and what you hope to gain from the process. Clients can expect a supportive conversation where they feel heard and understood, while also beginning to identify goals and possible next steps for therapy.
