Great to meet you!

I am a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Treasures of the Heart Therapeutic Services, a private practice based in Silver Spring, Maryland. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, with an emphasis in Sociology, Psychology, and African American Studies.

With several years of clinical experience, I specialize in serving adults from all backgrounds, with special emphasis on individuals from immigrant backgrounds, first-generation individuals, and women of color—particularly women of African descent. My therapeutic approach incorporates evidence-based practices to support clients navigating trauma, substance use disorders, stress, anxiety, and depression.

In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about advancing mental health initiatives that promote wellness in the workplace.

My approach to therapy

My clinical approach is rooted in a client-centered framework, creating a space where individuals feel empowered to lead the direction of each session. Clients are encouraged to explore whatever they wish to process—past experiences, current challenges, or emerging concerns—at their own pace. I follow their lead, supporting and guiding them as they confront their needs with honesty and courage.

While the foundation of my work is person-centered, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques as appropriate to help clients identify how their thoughts and perceptions influence patterns of behavior. This integration supports the development of new, adaptive strategies for facing life’s challenges. I sometimes provide homework to reinforce insights gained in session and to encourage continued growth between meetings.

What you can expect from me

Clients will leave feeling and understanding that their healing begins at awareness of their hopes and dreams from the present into the future; and the individual is the center from which healing is directed and achieved.
