Great to meet you!

Hello! I’m Gwen Scherr, a marriage and family therapist who supports couples, families, and individuals across the lifespan who may be tired of just coping through life and are ready to move toward deeper healing and growth. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, family issues, identity concerns, and the stress that can come from feeling disconnected from yourself or the people you love. Many of the people I work with want more than symptom relief — they want to feel more grounded, understood, and able to thrive in their relationships and daily lives. My goal is to offer a supportive space where you can slow down, feel seen, and begin moving toward a fuller, more authentic life!

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational in nature, with a systemic, trauma-informed, narrative, and LGBTQ+ affirmative lens. I use an experiential approach that may include mindfulness, movement, and creative, strength-based processes to help clients achieve their goals and stay connected to what matters most. I believe therapy works best when it engages the whole person — body, mind, emotions, and spirit. In our work together, we may explore anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family issues, attachment patterns, cultural narratives, and life transitions in a way that helps you better understand your story and the ways it has shaped you. My role is to provide a supportive, honest, and compassionate space for the unfolding of your healing journey. I firmly believe in the power of relationships to bring about change, healing, and more authentic connection with yourself and others!

What you can expect from me

Our first session will focus on relationship-building, hearing your story, and beginning to understand how your personal experiences, family systems, and cultural narratives have shaped your sense of self, the world around you, and the ways you have learned to cope. We may talk about the challenges bringing you to therapy, whether that includes anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family issues, or a difficult life transition. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and supported as we begin identifying what healing, growth, and meaningful change could look like for you. Together, we will start building the foundation for work that feels honest, useful, and deeply connected to who you are..
