Great to meet you!

As a licensed counselor, I believe mental health impacts more than we tend to give it credit for! I began my journey in undergraduate school, studying psychology, looking for answers for myself. I found that understanding yourself can be tough, if you do it alone. The value of asking for help is immense and I'm glad you are considering it! I'd be happy to be at your side through this experience. I have been practicing for 3 years and have worked with areas of concern such as anxiety, depression, relationship and/or familial trauma, self-esteem, identify, and life transitions.

I received my undergraduate degree from Southern Arkansas University in Psychology (BS - Psychology) and my graduate degree from Southern Arkansas University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MS - Clinical Mental Health Counseling). I interned in various settings, such as private practice and community based counseling clinics. Since being licensed, I have worked in outpatient clinics and inpatient behavioral health centers.

My approach to therapy

Throughout my experience in education, professional training, and clinical practice, I have learned that mental health is an intrinsic factor in all that we do, how we see the world, and how we see ourselves. In my practice, I use this concept to support you in exploring patterns, behaviors, emotional cycles, and thought processes. Your story matters here. My approach is specific to fit the needs of each individual I work with, and this means that your voice counts. I encourage honest communication and feedback throughout our work together. My goal in providing this service is to be there to listen actively and walk with you to find who you are and who you want to be.

What you can expect from me

The first therapy session can be scary sometimes! For this reason, I like to start slow. Our first session will include introductions, a brief history, and a discussion on what you want to get from therapy. We take these steps at the speed you are comfortable, so if you aren't sure what you need right now, that's okay. We will continue exploring these things as we have subsequent sessions. My main goal in our first session is to understand you a bit better to allow you a safe space to share and feel vulnerable in the future.
